I was very nervous sitting in the waiting area at Ashtead Hospital waiting for a consultation for a cataract operation. I needn't have been as from the moment Mr Petrarca called me into the consulting room his manner was one of calm and politeness which was so reassuring. He explained the procedure and did the necessary tests and I agreed to have surgery. The appointment came through extremely quickly. On walking into Ashtead Hospital on the day of surgery I was shown to my room and Mr Petrarca came and explained exactly what was going to happen in great detail. During the operation every step of the way was explained. There was no pain and no discomfort. Everybody in the team made you feel relaxed and comfortable.
Before I was discharged Mr Petrarca came to see me, and made sure I was alright.
I then went back to the hospital for my checkup and everything was fine.
I have since been back and had my other eye done and cannot believe what a difference it has made. I would personally like to thank you Mr Petrarca and your team and Ashtead Hospital for showing me such Kindness and allaying any fears that I had.
