I have been a Consultant Vascular and General Surgeon at Northampton General Hospital and the Three Shires Hospital for 19 years. My key areas of interest are in Vascular surgery, Aortic Aneurysm, Claudication and Carotid disease. I run a twice weekly rapid access clinic for patients with diabetic foot problems. I have a large experience with hernia , including inguinal and femoral hernias, sportsman's hernias and offer laparoscopic and open repair , both under general and local anaesthetic. I also provide a service for vascular access for renal dialysis and PICC, and portacaths for long term antibiotics and chemotherapy.

Dr Hicks put my mind at ease from the start. Very pleasant demeanor. He explained everything about my procedure. He made me feel totally at ease.

I would say my visit for my op was very disorganised , first they wanted to cancel saying I need a blood tests and ECG , however we got over that and vein op when ahead , no mention of blood tests when the consultant came to see me before op, he did not write down I needed a ECG in my notes I had to ask the nurse to do it , I came home with the worse bruise ever on my hand , I am now left with 2 extra marks on upper thigh which the consultant thinks it is not a problem , very disorganised and disappointed service .
