I am Mrs Farida Rahman’s daughter and have taken the liberty of taking your email address off of my mum’s recent letter from you. You and your team operated on her on the 2nd August. We met at UCLH post my mum’s surgery and on 21 August when you gave us the good news. I don’t think I have the words to thank you and your team enough for the care you provided to my mum and I. My mum’s health has not been great. She was very nervous about her surgery as she did not think she would pull through the operation. The last time my mum was on an operating bed was when she had my brother in 1977. My father, who was an anaesthetist at the hospital put her to sleep. My father’s colleagues delivered my brother. My father died of a sudden heart attack whilst at work in St Anne’s hospital a year later. I was 4 years old and my brother one. Mum brought us up on her own with no family in the UK. She is therefore the equivalent of both parents to us. The care and time afforded to me and my queries by your team I am most grateful for. The professionalism I witnessed has been second to none. The NHS provides an amazing service and I am thankful that professionals like you and your team continue to be part of the system. I too work in the public service industry and am fully aware of pressures from government with constant cost cutting yet your team did not ever let any external pressure show. With the most heartfelt thanks I can possibly send through via an email and with the very best of wishes for the future to you Farhana Rahman-Cook
