My consultation with Mr. Almeyda was a very good experience. I was also pleased that it was possible to have the consultation locally, i.e at Wallingford Community Hospital Outpatients. There is only one issue that could have been improved upon: at my consultation, Mr. Almeyda advised that that I would be seen for another appointment in two months’ time and that this appointment would be sent to me. When I had not received another appointment (at about five weeks after my initial one) I telephoned the Department to see what was happening and when an appointment letter would be sent to me. The gentleman I spoke to was helpful and consulted his notes which seemed to suggest at first that I was being discharged but then confirmed hat I would be seen for another consultation two months after my first appointment. However, no appointment had been sent out to me at that point and the earliest appointment he could offer me was for 15 March which in fact is is now three months (rather than the two envisaged by Mr. Almeyda) after my first appointment. I wonder whether there was some confusion or miscommunication among staff about my next appointment which resulted in my not being offered the appointment as advised.
