I was offered a short notice cancellation NHS appointment at Townlands Hospital recently. I met with Mr Almeyda, Consultant Surgeon ENT. After first listening to my history and symptoms and asking questions he undertook a review of my medial history and the results of a CT scan. After an examination, he explained my physical condition and potential options. After discussion, I have been listed for sinus surgery, although the likely waiting time is upwards of 12 months. This of course is not his fault but at least now I have a clear understanding of my condition - having suffered from the symptoms for more than a decade! Good clear communication and no "rushing you out the door" to get to the next appointment. Thank you!

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr Robert Almeyda for the excellent care he provided during my recent visit to the ENT Department at Royal Berkshire Hospital. Despite an initial four-hour wait across the A&E and Darrell Ward. I was already fatigued from an early-morning nosebleed and commuting, praises Dr. Robert Almeyda for his exceptional kindness and proactive approach in offering assistance. Dr Robert Almeyda was incredibly patient, taking the time to listen carefully and ask thoughtful questions about my condition. He then carried out a thorough examination of my nose and throat and promptly administered the appropriate treatment. Throughout the process, he made sure I felt comfortable, calm, and safe. Thank you!

Robert Almeyda was the surgeon who removed a basal cell carcinoma from my nose in September 2025. Previous to this, I had also had excellent service from my GP (Nettlebed) and the dermatologist (Townlands). The service from Mr Almeyda was excellent throughout - from the pre-op consultation at Townlands, the operation itself at Royal Berks and the aftercare interview back at Townlands. I felt informed my condition, about the operation and the choices that could be made. I felt in good hands thoughout the op - both with Robert and the team in the operating theatre.

I found Mr Almeyda a very personable likeable consultant who is most certainly on top of his game ,he is very thorough during his examination and tells you exactly what your problem is. He gives you all the options of how to deal with it and jointly come to a plan for what treatment is decided upon.His no nonsense approach in language a non medical person can fully understand is very refreshing. His full report was on the NHS app within 3 days which is better than good. I am very pleased to be under his care. The only negative was that I had to wait over a year to see him but that is a fault that lies elsewhere and certainly not that of Mr Almeyda William Mckenzie 24/10/25

From the moment I met Dr Almeyda, I found him to be a very friendly and kind man. He is very professional, making you feel very at ease, whilst demonstrating superb listening skills. His examination was very thorough, where he fully explained his findings and the treatment available in my situation. His very prompt follow up letter is very detailed and a true reflection of my visit to see him at the Royal Berks ENT, Henley. I have been very impressed by this gentleman.
