I have endured years of excruciating knee pain owing to osteoarthritis & in 2018 I had my right knee replaced on the NHS which I have recovered really well from. Unfortunately my left knee really deteriorated whilst working from home during the pandemic leaving me really restricted in what I could do . I was sent a list of approved consultants by my private medical provider & arranged an appointment with Mr Westerman through his really friendly & helpful secretary. Mr Westerman was able to see me quickly & I was immediately taken by his friendly, caring manner. He agreed that the only option was total left knee replacement & he had availability 5 weeks later ! I had my surgery via spinal anaesthesia & spent 2 nights in hospital. I cannot recommend this wonderful consultant & his team highly enough . I am 7 weeks post surgery & both Mr Westerman & myself are really pleased with my progress. I’m definitely on the way to getting my life back . My only regret is waiting so long in pain but am truly thankful for the expertise & care of Mr Westerman
