I would to thank Richard Baker and his team for the superb care I received at Wexham hospital. I had severed my UCL on my right hand and Mr Baker carefully explained the different options which he may have to employ once my hand was opened up so a full assessment of my injury could be made. I had the procedure on 29th of Aug, in which the UCL was freed up and micro mitec inserted to suture the ligament to the bone. the follow up care has been clearly defined. I initially had my hand elevated in a Bradford Sling and was allowed home the same day after recovery. I went back in 2 weeks to have the wound removed and had another permanent cast fitted. Two weeks later this was removed and I have a soft splint and will be seen again in 4 weeks. Mr Baker is very professional and caring and has helped me significantly through the recovery process. I was supposed to be on holiday after my operation but it would have been unsafe to fly and Mr Baker kindly wrote me a letter for my insurance company. In my opinion and experience Mr Baker is a top class surgeon.
