The Distal Interphalangeal Joint on my right hand sustained an injury during lockdown and as I was unable to see anybody. As a result, the joint did not heal properly causing arthritis to built up within the joint. I was referred to Mr Baker who took great care to explain the options open to me and offered to fuse the joint, being the least pain-free option. I agreed to go ahead and was booked into Wexham Park. The Team that carried out the operation under local anaesthetic, was very thorough and professional, ensuring I was completely calm and pain-free at all times. The joints have now fused and the finger completely pain free, with a good experience from start to finish. My experience of dealing with Mr. Baker and his Team has been excellent. He is very professional, listens carefully to my explanations and was very thorough on the post-op exam, making sure the finger had healed correctly. I am now preparing for the same operation on the same finger on the other hand as that has now got arthritis in the joint!
