I first consulted Mr Al-Mahfoudh in early 2019 with intermittent sciatica. He advised me of the options for treatment and we agreed that I would attempt to manage the pain with regular Pilates classes and pain killers when necessary. This worked well until early in 2022 when the pain became constant and started to impact my day to day activities. I consulted Mr Al-Mahfoudh again and we agreed that the best action would be to have surgery. He explained the procedure and all the risks involved. In November 2022, he performed a minimally invasive laminectomy and microdiscectomy on my spine. The recovery has been amazing. Within an hour of waking from the anaesthetic, I was out of bed and able to walk a short distance. I received excellent post operative care from all his team, and was back home on the morning of day 3. Since then the recovery has gone just as described by Mr Al-Mahfoudh. It is now 17 days since the operation and I am walking greater distances each day, feeling very little pain in my legs. I was very nervous about having the operation but felt I would be in safe hands.... and I was. I am so grateful to Mr Al-Mahfoudh and his team and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who is suffering with back pain. He listens and explains well, ensures you fully understand the implications of your decisions and so fills you with confidence.
