This procedure is something I have wanted for so long even as a young teen I have thought about it so to finally have it i have never been happier.
I had seen dr Turton when I was 17 and he instantly made me feel comfortable and that somebody understood the reasoning for my decision, I knew straight then I could tell him anything and he would just get it.
When it came to the surgery date I made stupid mistakes which created problems and resulted in me being unable to go through with the surgery that date as it would of been unsafe. When hearing that news I was distraught and constantly crying, he did everything possible to comfort me (all staff did) and made me laugh to deter my thoughts from the negatives. I understood he was doing the right thing which is another reason as to why I would recommend him to everyone (even my friend from my job is going to him) as most doctors would go ahead with it anyway.
The next day I received multiple phone calls and emails from the hospital asking how I was which made me feel so welcome, looked after and I couldn’t wait to go back, they even started to make plans of when it will be rescheduled which made me over the moon.
I got another date for 6 weeks in the future which to me is insane because i knew how long the waiting list is and will forever be grateful for how fast they got me in.
Fast forward my new date, Dr Turton got me seen asap and when drawing the stencils on me got me to sit down as that had been an issue before, in order to avoid any more problems that occurred last time. He made light jokes of the last time which I appreciated as it made me feel less embarrassed by the situation as I get embarrassed quickly. He constantly checked on my wellbeing and made sure all my recovery process was stress free.
When my check ups came around he always made sure I left without any questions and was fully aware of my situation and how I was recovering.
