I had reconstructive chest surgery at Castle Hill and was excited about having Mr Kneeshaw do my surgery as I had read review after review about him all positive, however at my consultation when I explained my issues and reason for wanting surgery he told me he thought I would be more suited for a slightly different procedure than I had initially asked for (less scarring etc.) and being the experienced surgeon that he is I trusted his decision as I didn't want to have surgery that I didn't need. I had my operation and my chest was uncovered a week later and at this stage I expected it to look a little worse for wear which it did but I was told with time it would look better and to wait for the swelling to go down etc. I had a review approximately 6 months after my surgery with Mr Kneeshaw as I was hugely disappointed with my results. I personally felt my chest didn't look any different than before my surgery and the whole thing had felt pointless, to me it didn't look like I'd had anything done. I told him that I wasn't happy and he said that he would do the surgery again and put me back on the waiting list. It's now been nearly 10 months since that review consultation and I haven't heard anything back. I understand waiting lists are long but I'm still waiting for the surgery that will make my chest look like it should always have looked and I trusted that Mr Kneeshaw could make that happen 16 months ago. I'm now considering going to a different hospital and surgeon altogether.
