Mr Paul Drake was extremely reassuring & made me feel calm. I was quite nervous going into theatre, my heart was thumping, however after the anaesthetic I relaxed & found it quite interesting hearing him tell the others exactly what he was doing (Brighton Gen is a teaching hospital) Four weeks on & my wound is healing nicely. The scar is visible but nothing like the horrid sight I saw after the dressing was removed. When I first saw my face in the mirror I gasped but now I see why the flap cut was necessary & far better than a straight cut across the cheek. I highly recommend Mr Drake & want to say well done to the rest of the team. The hospital is old, was freezing on the day of my surgery (the heating system was broken) it was fixed by my next visit but barely luke warm, awful conditions for the staff.
