Mr P. Lusty, has been my knee consultant for over a decade. I have two ( left and right) carefree new knees. One 1yr old and the other 9 weeks old. I am in Ortho terms a young patient 55yrs hence my longevity with Mr Lusty.
His attention to detail and perfection is outstanding. I had the misfortune to suffer a stitch abscess and Mr Lusty acted immediately ! Resolving the issue without compromise.
He is passionate about perfection, which at times can drive you mad but the prove is in the construction. I am now looking forward to life, and to walking on sand. My heartfelt thanks goes out to Mr Lusty and the Team that he heads up. My only constructive comment would be to ask. Now that Tkr are said to last 20/25yrs why couldn’t I have had mine done before I lost a decade of my mid youth?

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I am glad you have recovered well following your knee replacements. The timing of knee replacement surgery is not as straightforward in younger patients. A knee replacement is feels better than a bad knee but not as good as a natural knee where as a total hip can be almost as good. Younger patients have higher expectations, they remember their native knee better and notice the limitations of an artificial knee. This means their satisfaction with the operation is not as high so surgery must be undertaken with more caution. In addition while the average knee replacement lasts a long time the younger patient has longer to live and uses their knee more so will wear their new knee out quicker. Best wishes Patrick Lusty
