I was referred to Mr Bowes by my optician having significantly degraded vision in both eyes through early onset of cataracts. He took me through the various options open to me, appropriately explained the associated risks of cataract surgery and positioned the likely benefits of each option, enabling me to make an informed and supported choice.
Being somewhat squeamish about eyes and having heard others speak of discomfort from undergoing eye laser treatment I was nervous about this surgery. Mr Bowes helpfully set my mind at rest explaining the process from walking into the hospital to being discharged a few hours later, and everything in between. The experience was exactly as he described, with no distress or discomfort during the procedure and only very minor irritation the following day. I had surgery on each eye 2 weeks apart.
The consequential improvement in my vision was astounding, and has left me with no regrets.
