After suffering a sports related injury a year ago that stopped me from being active and healthy, I was initially very reluctant to have surgery on my knee but this was the only option if I wanted to return to a similar level of fitness. I was initially refered to Mr Shannak and he carefully talked us throught the damage seen on the MRI, what it meant, the options I had and the risks associated both short and long term. All the way through the consultations and in the meetings before the operation he listened and answered any questions I had. After the operation he checked on how I was feeling, explained what they had found during the operation and what was done to fix the problems caused by the injury. Having had previous operations for injuries, this was the best experience with the team at Three Shires helping me feel comfortable and at ease every step of the way, even the food was better than served on some of the more respected long haul airlines. In and out within 12 hours was a relief and I was back to light duties and work within a week. Final consultation with Mr Shannak earlier today and we discussed the physio I had been given, the rehab exercises and how I was feeling using the knee 6 weeks after the operation, finally we talked about the next steps to recovery - The day to day pain and discomfort has gone and now I know my limitations but getting back to being healthy and active again wouldn't have been possible without the amazing help given by Mr Shannak and the Team at Three Shires
