    I was referred to Mr Jacobs for treatment on a longstanding Achilles tendon problem. From the very first appointment I felt that he listened to my concerns and offered the best treatment plan possible to try to help the tendon recover without resorting to surgery. Sadly, the injury was too far advanced to respond to conservative treatment, so Mr Jacobs recommended surgery to repair the torn tendon and shave off a Haglund deformity. He always explained everything clearly, including the risks that it might not be as successful as we hoped it would be. Post operative care was just as good, where he monitored my progress with regular follow up appointments, addressing any concerns I had in a very kind and compassionate manner. Thanks to him I’m now able to walk more comfortably and not hobble about like a ninety year old. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Jacobs to anyone in need of a highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon and I’m extremely grateful for everything he has done. Frances Salter
