Overall, my experience with Dr Alibhai has been an extremely positive one. Following a somewhat negative experience with my former consultant and specialist, Dr Alibhai took over my case and was able to move me onto a more suitable path of care both quickly and confidently. During our consultations, he explained things in a manner that was always clear and concise, but equally, approachable and open. He would always ask if I had questions or needed clarification, and on disclosing my results, did his best to allay both mine and my mother’s fears and concerns. Dr Alibhai was very attentive to my case; once we had decided on the best course of action, he remained sensitive to my needs as a person - and not just as a patient - and was keen to tailor my treatment accordingly to those needs. I felt completely safe and assured under his care. On the day of the surgery, he came to see me and my mother to go through what the procedure would entail, helpfully reminding us of what had been discussed before. He then came to the ward to check in on me post-surgery, carefully explaining how the surgery had gone and what to expect in the coming days. He took the opportunity to personally reassure me about my recovery, which was a really thoughtful gesture. Dr Alibhai is an extremely competent consultant and surgeon, and I am pleased with the progress that I’m making so far thanks to his skill and precision. My mother and I are eternally grateful to him for taking on my case at the beginning of the year and for being a kind, consistent, knowledgeable and reassuring presence ever since.
