It was only six weeks ago that I was a healthy male in my 40s, never had any serious injury or illness and no time spent in hospital. What started with a stiff shoulder over a short period of time ended with extreme pain in my right arm and hand, loss of movement and loss of strength. The MRI scan showed I needed C6 C7 cervical discretionary and cage fusion (AC DP). I was assigned to Mr Hussain. The level of detail and understanding given at our first meeting was both scary yet informative. I knew there would be risks as with all surgery but I had confidence and the positive outcome would always outweigh the negatives / risks. My first time in hospital as a patient and couldn’t fault Mr Hussain or in fact any of the team that looked after me at Hull RI from the ward 4 staff, pre op team, anaesthetist, consultants, post op and recovery. These guys do an amazing job. Mr Hussain made time to visit me straight after the op in person to feed back. Then the next morning to be give me advise on recovery. Once discharged and home he even called me the day after. In short above and beyond. Early days but fingers crossed. I have none of the severe arm pain that I went in with and hope over the coming weeks I reach full recovery. Thank you again to Mr Hussain and all involved at Hull RI.
