After being accepted for a hip replacement I then had to wait a whole year before getting the operation. This of course was no fault of the doctor or surgeon. By the end of the year I literally could not walk more than a hundred yards without being in total agony. The operation was a complete success and I have zero pain now and can walk several miles without a problem. There is a six week to two month period after the operation (depending on your age and fitness) when you have to recover from the after effects of the operation (swollen leg and hip), and walk with the aid of crutches and then sticks, but beyond that my experience was a pain free life, back to normality. Fantastic work.
