Right from my fist meeting with him some weeks before my total hip replacement Mr Faisal explained everything clearly to me.
He was happy to accommodate my request to have a spinal anaesthetic and be awake for the operation. I didn’t require sedation either.
Just over an hour after the operation ended I was propped up in bed, with a cuppa and a sandwich. A couple of hours after that I was up with a walking frame!
I was discharged from hospital after 2 nights, totally comfortable with my crutches. In under a fortnight I was down to 1 crutch, and in 4 weeks I was crutch free.
After 10 weeks I’ve just swum 1.2KM breaststroke - just as I used to before my hip pain put a stop to it earlier this year.
I’m 48 - and I feel like I’ve got my life back. Thanks Mr Faisal
