I have nothing but praise for the treatment and care I received from Mr Thomas, his team and the staff in ITU during my recent stay in Kent & Canterbury Hospital. The fact that I am recovering well from a complex major operation is testament to Mr Thomas's professional skill and expertise, but what sets him apart are his interpersonal qualities. He is a great communicator, explaining the implications of my diagnosis and necessary treatment in a way that instilled confidence and trust in his team. He also showed empathy and understanding for what was an extremely worrying time for me. While I was in ITU, he spoke to me each day to check how I was feeling, and I am particularly grateful that he phoned my husband after the op, to reassure him that all went well. It is clear that Mr Thomas not only monitors the physical recovery of his patients, but is also keen to ensure the general well-being of his patients. It's a big thank you from me!
