On the 24th March 2016, I had my first knee consultation with Mr Mathew Freudmann at Westmoreland General Hospital Kendal Cumbria. He was warm, friendly and empathetic.
He was extremely knowledgeable and honest regarding the benefits, risks and possible outcomes of knee replacement surgery. Having already had a very successful right knee replacement in 2016, I was able to ask a number of relevant questions regarding the deterioration in my left knee. His pragmatic answers and ability to really listen to my queries and concerns, gave me great reassurance in his skills as a surgeon. He gave me helpful advice on how to strengthen my leg muscles to protect my knee and I left the hospital feeling positive and less daunted by the prospect of future surgery.
