I had been thinking of replacement lens for a few years as specs and contact lens wasn't ideal for me and also had start of cataracts. So, after carefully looking at options and reviews and someone I felt I could be fully confident with as I am(was) a very nervous patient, I decided Mark Wevill was my man for the job! After meeting him at my initial assessment at the Westbourne Clinic, I was so happy I found this lovely clever man. However still feeling anxious it took me a few weeks to make the decision to go ahead. This has to be the best bravest thing I've ever done for myself (thanks to Mark). After the first surgery (January 2020) I couldn't believe how fast it took; I really shouldn't have worried as much as I did, I never felt any pain whatsoever and it was very reassuring when Mark told me on the way out of theatre that "all went very well" music to my ears! I followed the aftercare instructions carefully and had no problem whatsoever. THANKYOU ever so much Mark, its truly wonderful to have clear eyesight and to be able to read small print, especially when I'm out and about shopping, driving, applying makeup (covering all the wrinkles I don't wish to see!) All things we take for granted, I just can't thank you enough. So, to anyone who is thinking of having any eye surgery I'd say go and meet this very clever man, Mark Wevill. Sue Sharpe …….. now over to my husband, John Like Sue, I had been thinking of having same surgery for years but never quite got around to it, being a contact lens wearer for years I guess I wasn't as troubled as Sue. However, I was so impressed with her success and also with her choice of consultant, Mark Wevill, I booked my assessment with him soon after Sue's surgery and was pleased to get surgery booked sooner than later because of holidays booked later in the year. The surgery was painless and a very short procedure; the strange thing I do remember during the procedure was saying to Mark as he implanted the lens "I can see the lights clearly!" what a surprise! The following day I was able to see quite clearly, expecting it to take a few more days for my eyes to adjust - but that wasn't the case. Needless to say I am very happy with the result. What more can I say? It's the best money I have ever spent! I no longer have to 'faff about' with contact lens, swapping for my specs, etc. And to awake in the morning and see clearly is still a novelty for me and I take pleasure in the delight of it all, just the little things such as identifying garden birds, etc! I can honestly say the surgery (Feb 2020) went so well also the aftercare I can thoroughly recommend Mark to anyone who thinking of eye surgery he is the best!! So a huge thankyou to Mark as well as your team at Westbourne Centre, I look forward to seeing you at my follow up which got postponed due to current virus situation. Kind regards John Sharpe
