I had a total hip replacement in May 2021 and recovered quickly and fully. However, one month later, I developed a serious infection in my leg. I was readmitted to Renacres Hall Hospital as an emergency, under the care of Mr Marcus Cope. He operated again to wash out my hip to remove an infected haematoma. He saw me frequently during my 3 week stay and prescribed IV and oral antibiotics and directed and monitored my wound care. I could not praise Mr Cope highly enough for the excellent care and attention I received. At all times, Mr Cope was knowledgeable, professional, understanding and extremely thorough. He encouraged my questions and gave regular updates and expectations, using plain language and not medical jargon. I found Mr Cope to be approachable, patient, and attentive and I had every confidence in the care he directed and administered. He never missed a beat, and was personally involved in all aspects of my care. He kept me informed of my progress and prognosis at all times, and I have had total confidence in the care I received.
