In Febuary of 2021 I had a right TKR under the care of Mr Cope and the team at Fulwood Hall Hospital. I had concerns as a younger patient (44) that i may face (another) battle to find a practitioner to listen to my concerns and not prejudge both my condition and my age. I found Mr Cope to be refreshing in both his approach and honesty, with regard to my management. I felt as though he explained the rationale for my treatment well and provided evidence where i needed. This served to support me to make decisions about my care that i truly believe have improved my outcomes. On a personal level I found him both approachable and pleasant, and I had no concerns about the procedure as i felt the reassurance of Mr Cope's manner and expertise. The Team at Fulwood Hall Hospital were exceptional - each and every one. The team supported me to push through the very painful reality of hard physio following the operation, and I really believe following their advice (even when it feels impossible!) has given me a remarkable outcome. I am aware that for the future i need to look after my "new knee" but already it feels like i have reclaimed a large amount of my mobility and i could not have done this without Mr Cope and the Fulwood Hall team.
