I was seen quickly by a more junior doctor, and examined. I felt quite comfortable and confident in this. After a short while the doctor suggested asking her senior consultant (Mr Malcolm Cameron) for advice, and went away to find him.
I was left alone for quite a while; this was the only time I felt vulnerable as I did not know how long I would be left.
However, the doctor returned with Mr Cameron who proceeded to examine me and ask further questions. I was treated with respect and courtesy and my condition was given due consideration. The follow up situation (a letter to my GP) was explained to me.
The only concern I had during my appointment was when I was left alone to wait in the doctor's consulting room, unsure how long it would take.
