Mr Thiruppathy listened to my concerns and gave considered advice. I had suffered with a lot of discomfort with haemorrhoids and we started with banding. After a second lot of banding, I still had signifcant discomfort. In case there was somthing upstream causing the recurrence, he recommended a flexible sigmoidoscopy. This was done at Circle Hospital and I was very nervous about this procedure, having had this done some years previously elsewhere. There have been improvements to this procedure in the meantime and this time things were much easier with a lot less discomfort. Following this procedure, nothing nasty was found and so a third lot of bandings was tried. This has been sucessful and has taken away pretty much all of the discomfort. Lifestyle changes are important, with a healthy diet and not 'straining' on the loo being the key points to remember. My sincere thanks to Mr. Thiruppathy and his team.
