I sent some 7 months in the NHS system from doctor to Hospital. I am 80 years old and had a spinal problem. After going through physio, scans, sacral epidural injection, visiting Harlepool NHS for assessment and visits to both James Cook and North Tees and my local surgery. All this time I was deteriorating and after this time I could only stand for 2 or three minutes before both my legs were numb and I was unable to walk 20 yards.North Tees put me on their urgent and vacancy list . When I called the hospital they informed me to ask my doctor to write a letter to the hospital informing them of my condition. I eventually saw Mr Aneiba who arranged after 8 months Aneiba agreed I needed surgery. The surgery took place as a day case and immediately there was a difference. Now after 7 weeks I am back playing competitive golf. I owe my new lease of life to the surgeon and staff of the hospital. My only disappointment is that at my age I have been incapacitated for such a long time including the terrible pain I have suffered for so long unnecessarily . I am still grateful to the people I eventually had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you. Mr Ronald Hudson.
