In consultation, Jonathan Bell has a pleasant, non-patronising and reassuring manner. He listened to what I had to say and ask, took the time to answer questions in detail, including the less relevant ones, was very frank about the possible outcome of arthroscopy surgery for a tear in the menescal cartilage and gave me all the information I needed to make the decision to go ahead with the procedure. Post operative, he reassured me all had gone well, dealing immediately with a minor problem that occurred, and made sure I had the information and contact details I would require once l left the hospital. In the follow up consultation three weeks after surgery, again, Mr Bell listened to my questions. He told me in detail what the procedure had found and what had been done, examining the knee and explaining the ongoing healing process, and checked that I was receiving appropriate physiotherapy. I was reassured throughout!
