I had my gall bladder removed in August 2016. As a self confessed medical phobic the last think you want to be told is that you need to have an operation. Mr Loy put me at ease straight away. He explained why I needed the procedure, what it would mean if I chose not to have it done and what it would mean to live without a gall bladder. By the time I left his consulting room at the end of my first appointment I had complete trust in Mr Loy. On the day of my operation Mr Loy came to see me shortly after I had arrived and explained again what was going to happen. He gave me chance to ask any questions that I had and once again assured me that I would be fine - he would look after me! He came to see me after the operation and reassured me that everything had gone to plan and he visited again the next morning ready for my discharge. I had a follow up appointment with Mr Loy 4 weeks post operative where he again told me everything had gone to plan and that the results showed what he thought they would, so no further treatment was needed. Each time I saw Mr Loy he displayed a very cheery, calm and sensitive attitude towards both myself and my husband. It was obvious to me that the nursing staff hold Mr Loy in great regard too. I left hospital feeling quite proud of myself for how I had coped with what for me was a frightening experience. But as I look back now it wasn't so frightening after all, and I know that a large part of that was down to how I was looked after and cared for by Mr Loy. Thank you Mr Loy!
