Dr Farah performed a right- sided MRI guided focussed ultrasound thalamotomy on me on 12 January 2023 in order to give me function in my right hand again. I am very happy with the result as I can now eat and drink with this hand, although I cannot use a knife and fork as I have a quite severe tremor in my left hand I hope that it will soon be possible for Mr Farah to carry out this procedure on my left hand. I also have severe tremors in my legs which Mr Farah diagnosed as negatively affecting my gait and as he explained that this procedure could possibly make that condition worse he adopted a more cautionary approach. Although I still have a very mild tremor in my right hand now, at times, and following activity, I am still very happy with the result. I would like to commend Mr Farah and his team for their professionalism, their consideration for my comfort at all times and for their consistent clear explanations of what to expect before, during and after the procedure. I developed dysgeusia following the steroid treatment and this is still a problem after 12 weeks. I hope this settles down very soon as it makes all food and drink, even water, taste unpleasant. It would have been helpful if this had been mentioned as a possibility, even if it’s a rare occurrence. I Would like to thank Mr Farah and his team and all the staff with whom I came into contact at The Walton Centre for their caring attitude and professionalism.
