I had suffered with Trigeminal Neuralgia fo over 3 years. I had tried and tested so many different medications. Eventually, I became medically resistant and was in excrutiating, debilitating pain every day of my life. i was referred by my Neurologist to Mr Jibril Osman Farah (Neurosurgeon) and his team. We first spoke in March 2021. He took a brief medical history and arranged for me to have a MRI scan to confirm the condition. I had this scan which confirmed a blood vessel constricting the Trigeminal Nerve. All staff were excellent and made me feel at ease. Mr Farah's Receptionist - Louise was also extremely helpful throughout. I attended an appointment where Mr Farah explained all the different options available to me. He was very open and honest throughout and explained exactly what would happen and what could happen. We agreed upon a Microvascular Decompression Surgery - a brain surgery to relieve abnormal compression of a cranial nerve causing Trigeminal Neuralgia. My operation was sceduled for 22/11/2021. 3 days before my surgery, I atteneded hospital for a Covid Test. On the morning of my surgery, the Anesthesiologist and another member of Mr Farah's team came to see me in Caton Ward (agian fantastic, caring, professional staff.) They explained what was going to happen during the procedure before my operation. My surgery took over 6 hours, the blood vessel was coiled around the Trigeminal Nerve. These people are walking, talking, life changing Angels. I had my surgery on Monday 22/11/2021 and was discharged from hospital on Wednesday 24/11/2021. Mr Farah came to see me on Caton Ward to check on my progress and give advice. 10 days after my surgery, I attended the Walton Centre to have my sutures removed. Again, a very positive experience. I am forever grateful to Mr Farah, his entire team and all the staff who have played a part in my referal, surgery, recovery and a new beginning for my life. Thank You Everyone!
