I had a complete hip replacement on the 10 August 2023, carried out by Consultant Surgeon Mr Jeevan Chandrasenan, assisted by his excellent team. A couple of weeks later the stitches were removed a clean dressing applied by a senior nurse at Killamarsh Medical practice and on first sight of the scars the nurse commented that she had never seen a neater job in her twenty years has a nurse. Ten weeks after the operation I am now almost free of pain and the resulting scar tissue is negligible, and for this I have to thank Mr Chandrasenan, the surgeon, and the nurses, technicians and the anaesthetist for a tremendous job. They are all a credit to Chesterfield Royal Hospital. On a personal note, of the numerous time I have met Mr Chandrasenan he has at all times greeted me with the warmest of smiles and, important to me, with a firm handshake. Bedside manner at its best.
