If you do need a hip replacement, Mr James Hutchinson should be your first choice of orthopaedic surgeon. He has an excellent record of achievement. In fact he is in the top 5% of UK surgeons in terms of revision rate and we are extremely lucky in Derby and surrounding district to have access to his care both within the NHS and privately. Just over four years ago, I was in severe pain, walked with a limp and was badly in need of a hip replacement. I was very fortunate to come across Mr Hutchinson, who said he could carry out the operation for me. He clearly explained everything to me, told me what I needed to do immediately after the operation, and how long my recovery would take. I can only say it was like a miracle and the whole process went exactly as Mr Hutchinson had clearly explained and I was in and out of hospital in less than 24 hours. He had told me that I would have a scar left on my leg after the operation, but what he failed to say was that this would be the neatest, smallest, hardly noticeable scar that you could ever imagine. All I can say is "Thankyou Mr Hutchinson for an excellent job well done."
