Mr Childs first assessed me at the Beaumont Hospital in Bolton as an NHS patient when he identified I would need to have a hip replacement. He took on board my wish to have the treatment at Bolton Hospital rather than the Beaumont Hospital due to a terrible experience I had there over 10 years ago and advised it was my choice where I would be treated. I instantly felt I was going to be treated by a caring and understanding Consultant, which continued throughout the appointments leading up to my treatment. Before the surgery, Mr Childs made me feel at ease and explained the procedure thoroughly.
I had the procedure just over a week ago so I am still in pain from the surgery which I am aware is normal but I have an app on my phone, 'My Recovery' to monitor post-op pain, exercises etc that was sent to me months before admission to hospital.
