Me Bryson is the most negative and disengaged professional I have ever encountered. He dragged me on an 80 Miles return journey for a 5 minute meeting where he basically told me there was nothing more they could offer me and that people like McCain had no better outcomes than anyone else. I pointed out that things are different when someone is 81 rather than my age of 56 and he disagreed and said it was the same.

I saw this man as an outpatient. His manner was off-hand and terse to the point of rudeness. He radiated antipathy. He did not appear to have read my notes beforehand. I would be extremely reluctant to see him again. Ever.

My wife was admitted to the neurosurgical centre in Stoke with a sub-arachnoid haemorrhage, after being diagnosed at Shrewsbury Hospital. At the time she was conscious and alert, I was told that Howard Brydon was the consultant on-call and he apparently has (or had) a specialist interest in this condition. From the outset it appeared to me that either he did not want to communicate or was unable to do so, I kept on asking to be seen by the consultant, but was told by numerous members of staff that Mr.Brydon does not routinely see and communicate with his patients or relatives, instead preferring for his junior doctors to do so. I was told that my wife would be having surgery to `clip` this aneurysm to prevent her condition from deteriorating and that Mr.Brydon would be performing the surgery. I do not know what this man did in the operating theatre, but all I know is that following the surgery she spent several weeks in the intensive care unit having developed some kind of brain infarction as a result of his operation. This I was informed meant that a large portion of her brain was now starved of oxygen and that she would never be the same woman as she was before she came to this hospital. She has since needed anther operation to insert a shunt in her brain to relieve high pressure effects - a tube has been passed from her head to her abdomen. As far as I am aware this procedure went as planned, and thankfully was performed by some other doctor, not Howard Brydon. My wife has finally - after more than 2 months been discharged from this hospital and is having rehabilitation closer to our home. All I would like to say is that for anyone else who requires any form of neurosurgical treatment at Stoke, for God`s sake do not let this incompetent individual get involved! You will only likely find that he will destroy your life as he has done to me and my family.
