After suffering very acute pain and restless night, I attended Adult A&E on a Sunday . Later saw my own GP the following day. My GP kindly referred me to Mr Gavin Roberston after a scan confirming that it was a gall stone blockage in my bile duct.My GP reassured me that he was one of the best and well experienced Consultant Surgeons in Leicester. My initial consultation appointment come very quickly. My husband and I were both greeted warmly and made me feel very reassured. He patiently went through my medical history and my symptoms. He quickly confirmed my diagnosis and systematically went through options. He explained me in detail the surgical option and all complications involved. He also mentioned possibilities of suffering in pain if the condition was left untreated He answered all my worrying questions to my full satisfaction. This made me and my husband very comfortable I was then able to give my informed consent wholeheartedly. He quickly arranged for the surgery and I left the hospital smiling in good spirit. On the day of operation I was greeted by Mr Gavin Robertson and his excellent A Team who prepared me for the surgery. After the surgery ,he come smiling and gave good report that all went well. All the nursing staff were very friendly, reassuring and helpful. I was discharged on same day .I felt better than what i expected after a surgical procedure.I was able to walk and climb stairs unassisted. I was given a review appointment after a week ,followed by a monthly review appointment. I was thoroughly examined and given green flag to say all was well. I cannot thank Mr Gavin Roberston enough for making my patient journey from start to finish a very comfortable and memorable one. .He is an excellent , courteous and professional surgeon. I would recommend him to all my friends and family without any hesitation . Thank you once more for making me pain free !
