I found Mr Stables very approachable and he was able to reassure me that a Full knee replacement was needed. He did not however sugar coat the operation or recovery and discussed pros and cons. I was very impressed also with the My Knee system which meant a tailor made mould replica of my knee helped to ensure the precision of the implant being fitted. My operation was straightforward, communication with Mr Stables was very good pre and post op. I found the emails every couple of weeks to check in and make suggestions very helpful. Especially suggestions for a memory foam knee pillow which made side sleeping possible and comfortable. My physio at Spire had a replacement done by another consultant and said to me he wished he had used Gareth Stables as like me he found his patients had a better recovery. I have had my 6 week check up tonight and I couldn’t be happier.. I have got my life back, I am able to walk my dog again and I am on a phased return to work as a private carer. If I had any future orthopaedic issues I would not hesitate to book an appointment with Mr Stables
