Mr Tayton kindly agreed to see my mother as we had heard about the micro bead trial - my mum was really scared about having ‘proper’ knee surgery. This was all arranged but my mums knee was probably 3 years passed that stage and Mr Tayton said that her knee was really bad. His kind reasoning surrounding existing pain & what a TKR would be put my mums mind at rest and he agreed for her to be added to his nhs list. He also had to write a report as mum was out of area. We are now 2 weeks post operation which went really well - my mum is not in very much pain, walks better already and had a really positive experience. Mr Tayton was really kind - my mum is very deaf - even with hearing aids and during covid this has been even more difficult as the clinical masks have meant she cannot lip read. Mr Tayton took time to speak louder and very clearly so there was not any miscommunications. The whole experience has been positive and the stitches / staples were taken out yesterday and mum walked to the GP and back all ok. A long way to go but she’s telling everyone how wonderful he is and the whole experience at BIH in Reading, Berks
