I was treated by Dr Strauss in July 2017 as an NHS in-patient at the Royal Marsden Hospital. As a patient, I found Dr Strauss and his team to be one of the best group of doctors to speak with. Dr Strauss in particular showed a great deal of empathy, understanding and professionalism during my course of treatment. He removed a sarcoma from my left thigh, which was classified as high grade and very deep. In a very short time after surgery I was almost back to how I was before my sarcoma showed its ugly head and, five months after surgery my mobility is back to normal. I will need follow up treatment for some time but my appreciation and thanks to Dr Strauss and his Sarcoma team at the Royal Marsden hospital cannot be overstated. One suggestion I wish to make is that all doctors should try to listen more closely to the symptoms described by their patients on first presentation. This could save potential misdiagnosis of a serious and sometimes tragic outcome.
