In July 2016, I was diagnosed with papillary carcinoma of my thyroid. Mr Ratliff performed a total thyroidectomy. I was very anxious and overwhlemed at times due to having Aspersers and the anxieties, in which can present themselves in such a situation. However Mr Ratliff was always very thorough, courteous and pleasant during our hospital appointments as was his nurse Sally who is always very kind. And went out of his way to make my operation as stress free and comforable for my above needs. Mr Ratliff was extremely reassuring and empathetic, frequently taking the time to ask if I undersood want he was explaining or whether I wanted to know anythig myself. He is an extremely skilled surgeon and my scar has healed well. Mr Ratliff also looks after me post care yearly and his team always make me feel at ease. One day when he retires it will be an extreme loss to the medical profession and NGH!!
