I was referred to Addenbrooke’s on October 1st 2020, I had a colonoscopy on October 14th a CT scan on the same day and an MRI scan two days later. I met with Mr Simillis some days later, what a man, he explained everything to me with wonderful drawing and care and kindness. I was diagnosed with recital cancer, my surgery was on November 24th 2020. I still cry thinking about it. This was and is life changing, I now have a stoma we seem to be getting on with each other. The care kindness and support I received from Addenbrooke’s as a patient on L4 and an outpatient in oncology has been brilliant. Mr Simillis Cheryl and all the staff in the hospital you are heroes and a credit to your profession, I am truly humbled to have met you all.
