At the start of the appointment today I felt a little rushed. I had been told I was having a consultation so was surprised to be having a TV ultrasound. This is not a slight on him but more the communication of the NHS. His bedside manner could improve. He was not gentle which could have been unsettling for some during such a personal appointment and was a stark contrast to the dimly lit and soft spoken ultrasound technicians from the previous appointment. However, he definitely came across as knowledgeable and concerned about my issue. This was made clearer during our chat after. He transcribed the letter in front of me and allowed me to state where I disagreed and genuinely listened to me and my amendments. I was grateful for this. After the appointment I felt genuinely listened to and my needs were fully met. It is better to have a realistic doctor who tells you factually what is happening. The lady that took notes was also excellent in every way. Unfortunately I didn’t get her name.
