Mr Al-khaffaf was my consultant/surgeon recently when I was diagnosed with gallstones and subsequently had my gallbladder removed. During my first appointment with him he explained the function of the gallbladder, the reasons why gallstones form and what happens after the removal of the gallbladder in the short and longer term. He answered my questions, communicated clearly and I understood his explanations. He told me right away that I would require surgery and he explained how the operation would be undertaken (keyhole surgery) as well as the process from my first appointment, pre-op assessment, operation and follow up appointment. After the operation he came to the ward to see me and I appreciated this very much as I had been quite ill. I received a first class service. Mr Al-khaffaf was very courteous and I never felt rushed during my two appointments with him. My whole experience was excellent and I would certainly recommend him and the service I received.
