I presented with severe back pain week one of lockdown, March 2020. An MRI scan showed a synovial cyst in my right facet joint. Discussions with a local orthopaedic consultant suggested major back surgery. I found Mr Chaudhary when I googled “top neuro orthopaedic consultant” and it was the best google search I’ve ever had. Mr Chaudhary was able to remove the offending synovial cyst, the membrane and pair back the arthritic bone which caused the cyst via keyhole surgery allowing me to be mobile within hours of the surgery, to go home within hours of the surgery and most importantly pain free. Mr Chaudhary is a brilliant surgeon but moreover he has compassion and his explanations are concise and easy to understand. He offers advice with regards to surgical options, but also discussed not only the short term implications but also the long term prognosis. His passion for his work and for his patients is evident. I cannot recommend Mr Chaudhary enough, and his support team, his secretary and the anaesthetist.
