I went in to have a septo-rhinoplasty operation within the ENT clinic at the Throat Nose & Ear Hospital in Kings Cross. My previous appointments had been at the Royal Free with a different doctor, but she was ill on the day of my operation and Mr Asit Arora came across from the Royal Free to do the operation. Obviously a change in surgeon on the day of the operation is a bit of a shock, but Mr Asit Arora was really calm, had a great demeanour and settled any nerves I had immediately. I spoke to Asit after coming out the operation. Who informed it all went well. The nurses then took over and the care I received was great. I was allowed home (which for me was important, as I hate hospitals!) and I think that aided my recovery. The after care from Asit in my two follow up appointments has been equally as good. Talking through all parts of the process, what he was doing, what it was to achieve, what I should and shouldn't be doing and why. When inspecting my nose, removing the cast, splints, stitches etc the procedure is never going to be pleasant but Asit did all this with care and attention. Even with a busy waiting room outside it never felt rushed. To summarise, I found Asit a pleasure, he was a friendly face giving me all the information I required, treating me kindly and like an adult, which made the whole process a lot easier.
