I first met Mr Acharya for a private consultation as I had injured my foot with broken glass, severing the tendons to my big toe. This wasn't diagnosed in A&E triage and so was a delayed diagnosis, and I sought private care as the NHS care was less than satisfactory. Mr Acharya is extremely kind and empathetic and immediately put me at my ease by explaining exactly what the impact of the glass had done to my foot and what would happen in surgery to repair the tendons. He then promptly arranged scans for me, a follow up consultation and communicated with my GP prior to surgery. I really felt that Mr Acharya had my interests at heart every step of the way. My surgery was successful, the care I received from the nursing and physio staff at The Spire Roding during my stay was second to none, even attended to by Mr Acharya on a Saturday morning too. Post operatively, he was always quick to answer my emails, and I saw him as an outpatient for cast removal, and he arranged physiotherapy, communicating with my physiotherapist prior to my appointments. Mr Acharya is extremely professional, and is an expert in his field of trauma and orthopaedics. He treated me with utmost respect, nothing was ever a bother, he was easy to talk to, reassuring, and an excellent surgeon. He lives up to The Hypocratic Oath which states that "There is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife". If you have the pleasure of meeting Mr Acharya, you will understand why I have given this rather lengthy, five star review.
