I first discovered that I had scoliosis at the age of 13 or 14 (we only took it seriously when I turned 15 as me leaning to one side was much more noticeable and I developed a lump on the lower left side of my back), my GP then went and referred me to doctor Ranganathan. Before being referred my confidence was extremely low I never liked changing in front of people and I always had a lot of pain in my lower spine. When meeting doctor Ranganathan for the first time he was very empathetic and very honest on what he'd seen from my x-rays and what he thought was the best steps to take next. When planning for my surgery doctor Ranganathan allowed me to speak to other patients who had gone through the same procedure (spinal fusion) I was able to gain an understanding and feel much more comfortable as I knew I wasn't the only one. Having the surgery was the best decision I have ever made I had a large curve in the lumbar spine, the surgery was successful and everyday has been better since. Doctor Ranganathan was able to help restore my confidence as a person, he has helped me mentally and physical and I am very thankful and grateful. He is very kind and caring towards his patients and always listens to our concerns and doubts, and always gives reassurance and answers any questions asked to the best of his ability. My stay at the hospital was a wonderful experience I was looked after with great care. I am really happy that he performed this procedure on me he has given me hope. I had the surgery 2 years ago (I'm 20 now) and I am stronger and better than ever, I cannot thank the doctor enough. DR RANGANATHAN IS THE VERY BEST!!!
