Mr Goede is amazing. After a terrible year in 2017 resulting in me needing an emergency colostomy due to a failed bowel resection elsewhere this gentleman performed my reversal. August 2018. He examined me and found a hernia that others missed and said he could fix the horrid scar I had due to the wound dehissing. He was very knowledgeable and made me feel calm and I felt safe. My anxiety was through the roof at the idea of another operation. Considering my last one I was in a coma and had sepsis. After performing my operation it was a bank holiday weekend and even though he wasn’t working he came in every day to check on me. He told me all the other things he found during surgery and reassured me that there is a plan going forward if this doesn’t work. He always knew how to calm me down and feel better. Since my operation things haven’t been great but that’s not his fault my colon has decided to not work properly. He saw me instantly and despite only having a 15min appointment slot he spent as long as needed to address everything. He explained to me what was going on, and what we can do next and so on and so forth. He got everything set up and sorted. Since then he has been in contact with a specialist nurse for me and keeps being updated on my case. He is the only surgeon I’ve ever had that has checked up on me on his days off and gone out of his way to see how I am and I’ve had a lot of surgeries for a young person. I trust him completely. He is so down to earth and easy to talk to, he doesn’t rush you either and listens to your every concern. I am so grateful to have him as my surgeon.
