I sustained injuries during snowboarding that comprised a full tear of the ACL, partial tear of the MCL, bone bruising and 2 meniscus tears. Although I was fortunate to have a relatively stable knee 18 months post injury, I was advised that a reconstruction would be my best option if I were to return to the slopes and continue to lead my active lifestyle. I had some concerns over the procedure and choice of surgeon to obtain the best outcome, which evaporated upon my consultation with Mr Arman Memarzadeh. He was warm, knowledgeable and very reassuring. Understanding my desire to return to the same level of activity, Mr Memarzadeh guided my decision to use a patellar graft for the surgery. I was informed of the risks and to expect up to 6 weeks using crutches post-op. The surgery went very well and the speed of my recovery was beyond my expectations. I was walking without crutches within 2 weeks and regained full range of motion by our follow up appointment at 8 weeks. I was particularly impressed by how neat the incision was at the front of my knee, which Mr Memarzadeh informed me would result in minimal scarring. My rehabilitation is ongoing and my strength continues to increase, with little pain or discomfort. I’m confident I will be back on the mountain by 2024. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Memarzadeh to perform knee reconstruction surgery. He understood my needs and provided a variety of options for the graft, was approachable and particularly patient with all of my questions and concerns. I am simply delighted with the outcome to date and feel very fortunate to have received excellent treatment. Scott Winters 29/09/23
